Nicole Dorion-Poussart holds a Master degree in history from Laval University. Her dissertation dealt with the relations of Quebec and Canada with Mexico. Her curiosity for other cultures brought her to Spain where she studied in the faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Madrid. She then worked for the Canadian ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the Chief of protocol at Harvard University and as a research associate at Laval University. Always having Quebec City, her native town, as a homeport, the author has lived in the United States, in the Netherlands and in France. At the end of the 1980's she settled in Sillery and discovered its rich heritage, starting point of this book.
